Its been a while!......

hello all, sorry for the delay...things have been very busy!.
Just got back yesterday from Britweek in LA, which included a soccer game with Vinnie Jones, Frank Le Boef and Warren Barton....was great great fun!
I Have been in London with Ben and Paul working on the album, and we're very pleased with the new stuff!. We played some great warm up gigs in Brighton, Belfast, Southampton and Dubai.
we have been asked to write the 'track' for the IMS (international Music Summit) which is in Ibiza from 27-29th May. we will write a tune that will be done infront of the IMS attendee's then, Above and Beyond will remix it the following day. the tune will available to buy shortly aferwards and will go to a charity that will be announced at IMS.
we have great news that Dirty Vegas will play Glastonbury Festival this year on the sunday night 28th June at 6;15 on the Dance Stage. cannot wait for this one! loads more to tell over the next few weeks, including more festivals and DJ sets.

This Week.......

So where better than Las Vegas to start playing some shows?
we will be playing Tabu@MGM Grand tonight and then we have an early start for a photo shoot with respected photographer Doug Sonders on friday in the Nevada desert.
We cannot be in Vegas without hitting a few casino's before we leave for DC early Saturday morning. We play 'FUR' in DC for the first time, so we are all looking forward to that one!.
we have been kindly asked to be groomed at the amazing 'groominglounge.com' on sunday before we head down to South Beach for the Winter Music Conference. There are so many parties going on down there, we play our own party at the Delano Hotel on 3/25. Then we play an official WMC 'Pool Party' on 3/26, before we then play SPACE at midnight!. Friday is the Bullitt Party, before we all pack our bags to head to Belfast on 4th April. I will be recording in London with Ben and Paul all through April, hoping to get the album done!.
we'll have plenty to report from these places next week! and some news on UK dates! :)

update on DV album and more.....

hello,
another busy week of writing, recording and drinking!!!!!
firstly, i like to congratulate Richard Harrison, the director of 'Unstoppable' a great independent film that has licensed the song 'Smile' (cheers Dave Hockley) from my solo album 'This Town. "Unstoppable' has just just been picked for its first Film Festival showing at the 'European Independent Film Festival' in Paris on March 13th - 15th. C'mon!!!.
Song's are going really well with the new Dirty Vegas album, and more songs keep coming!!.
I did a great track this week with my friends 3ski, which is an old friend of mine Paul Slater and DJ Joeski from Brooklyn NY. The boys have been recording an album, and last night they mixed the song with NYC legendary producer Mattias Heilbronn.
i am heading to UK from 3rd-27th April to finish up recording with Ben and Paul and play Belfast (4th April) and Brighton (12th April).....i'd love to see a few old faces for a beer or 2?

In the Trenches.......

So, the factory keeps chugging away!.
things have been good this week with writing/recording/etc.
Last week, songs came along like 'What happened to you?' 'Shelter' and a song DV has done with Montreal's finest Sultan & Ned Shepard called 'Crimson Sun/Somewhere i Belong'.
Another great song came along, again with the wonderful Ms Sam Obernik on vocal duties.
I did a great percussion session for Evan Dando of 'The Lemonheads', its a song called 'Dirty Robot' and features some model called Kate Moss!. ;)
Ben and Paul worked on a monster version of 'Changes', some of the remixes are in and the song should be released in a few weeks!.
may have some news on a possible London date.....more to come soon!

This week....songs and new dates!

hello,
it has been a productive week, maybe because it was -16 that i didnt want to leave the house!.
But I wrote a few songs that Ben and Paul really liked, so that was good!.
a song called 'Someday' is coming together quite nicely, we even got the wonderful Ms Sam Obernik to grace us with some great 'Backing Vocals' for the track!.
We are all writing in cyberspace with each other, and will continue to do so until we head off to play Las Vegas on 3/19 at TABU @ MGM Grand. Then we fly to D.C for a DJ/Live set at 'FUR' 3/21, before we play at 'SET' in Miami on 3/22 we have a photo shoot in D.C!. Who said Sundays we're a day of rest?.
Then Winter Music Conference starts in Miami, where we will play a 'live show' at The Delano Hotel (3/25) with a few surprise guests. Then its a big night for us as we play the mainroom at SPACE for 'Toolroom Knights' with Mark Knight, Funkagenda, Dave Spoon etc.
we finish off our week in Miami by playing at the 'Bullitt' Party we're we will raise a glass (or 2) to celebrate our new management with them! should be fun!!

Dirty vegas blogging!!!!!

welcome to my first blog! -
What a start to 2009, we we’re asked to play at an ‘Inauguration Party’ at the hot-club ‘Lima’ in Washington DC, alongside ‘Dubfire’. This was an amazing night, the city was electric with the countdown to the new US president Barack Obama. I (Steve) played a stripped down version of the new single ‘Pressure’ and a cover of ‘Say Hello’ which had Dubfire smiling!. Ben and Paul rocked the decks that had actress, Hayden Panettiere (Heroes) dancing in the DJ Booth!.
Then it was onto Park City, Utah for the ‘Sundance Film Festival’ where we played a cool film party and played a track from our new album called ‘Today’ for the first time to a happy crowd! :)
New Single ‘Changes’ is out on Toolroom Records in a few weeks with mixes from ATFC, Mark Knight and eSquire.
We also have remixed the stonking new single from Ladytron called ‘Tomorrow’
We are working on songs as I write this, so its busy busy busy!
